PostSubject: War of the Gods -[IC | Open]-   War of the Gods -[IC | Open]- I_icon_minitimeTue Jan 13, 2009 12:00 am

The sky had been ripped open from above...and to many in the Mortal Realm, it was worse than their nightmares had ever foretold. Blood was quite literally raining down from the Heavens. Only - it wasn't in rain...the gods were at war with each other...they had been for as long as anyone in the mortal realm could remember. Even where that blood fell, the planet below was barren...a centuries old after-effect of war...and eternal battleground...so horribly ravaged by warfare, that even the smoke that rose from the former constructs and former cities burned black, and thick...as if freshly lit fires had just destroyed the place, when really, most of these fires where eternal...god fire.. Even now, centuries upon centuries, the deity armies were at war...gods everywhere - warring against god and mortal alike. Some mortals had been fortunate enough to find artifacts...items that had been taken from the fallen gods.

To the gods, one would think, the war seemed to be nearing an end...Even the mortals could see this...the one's that knew quite a bit of truth about the gods, anyways. It was true...It was now boiling down to both of the Chosen. The God of Gods and Goddess of Gods had both pulled out of the war. The outcome now lie directly on the shoulders of each's Chosen, and those gods that followed.
-[The OOC can be found Here.]-

--

Xion stared pure damnation on a small group of humans that had taken up arms against them, being lead by a god. The rage of seeing this Fallen god leading an attack on the God of Gods' forces drove him nearly into a frenzy, his lust for war taking over his entire being. He opened his mouth, and released a deep, rumbling war cry, that could have shook the Heavens, had they not been ripped open. The lighter-willed mortals in the small group were instantly enveloped by the rage of war, some even turning on each other. The god, however remained unaffected. Xion simply smiled at him, and pounced.

No sooner did the Warhorse's feet leave the ground, than his War Hammer was swung into and arc, over his own body, and carried down with a mighty double-axe fist. The but of the Hammer crashed down on the god's head, along with Xion's fists, and the god was sent to his knees. A sight that many of the human fled from, once they had realized it was indeed a Chosen. The Chosen, before, had hardly shown up in the Mortal Realm to go to war...but now, it would seem that all bets were off, since the Fallen that had remained alive where leading small forces of god-killers and other such mortals.

But it was not so...Xion, as quickly as he had come to the realm of the living to slay a god that had been leading a force of mortals, Xion seemed to dematerialize from the mortal realm. It was obvious he had only come to kill the god. When he returned to the Pantheon, Xion returned to the side of Alzir, the God of Gods. "My liege...they are trues, these rumors...", he told the Alpha god...who simply nodded in reply before speaking directly to the mind of Xion What about the Immortals?

Xion had also heard these rumors from his brethren in war - that Immortals where even starting to rise among these people...these mortals had adapted...that were now living much longer life spans, as well as escaping the threat of time. Not to mention that they were now being bred to battle with the gods...attempting to match the lesser and demi gods in the arts of melee. Xion just had to come and see for himself...and he had personally seen that it was true...and to him, it was an abomination. "I have seen this, as well, Alzir. The mortals are breeding themselves to matching the demigods on the battlefield. I've even had reports of some mortals that have come in contact with weapons and armors of the Fallen."

The Alpha shook his head. "Then it is time we put an end to this war...As usual, my sister's forces are priority one, Xion. But I want you to annihilate any god item wearing mortal you cross in the Realm of the Living...maybe your appearance there will draw my sister's Chosen out into the open...and you can strike while the striking is good." Alzir nodded again, telling Xion that it was time to go...and he did. Xion walked away from the Luscious Wasteaway - the swampland/jungle paradise domain of Alzir, a maniacal smirk threaten to play on his lips as the fire for wire in his core was fueled. It had really come down to the point where the gods were going to be forced to show the mortals the consequences of participating in a war of gods. The time had also come when Xion would show all the consequences of waging war against Alzir, the Alpha God...the God of Gods.

Ladric looked out of the tower in one of the last remaining castles in the Grand city of Xine, and felt a pang of sorrow from the massive wasteland that was only a few miles away. . It was their that he believed his army would meet the combined powers of the gods above and it was their the fate of the realms of mortals would be decided. Yet that day was not today. No it would be a long while before he had to worry about the battle to end all battles and the fate of the people he now tried to protect.

For now he led from the strongest remaining fortress after he bested the few remaining warriors in power that had not listened to his words. They had called him insane for thinking that he could take the battle to the realm of the gods. "They didn't know what I could do and needed to be shown that it was possible." he said to no one but himself.

He remembered the day that he challenged them for leadership in the duels of honor. With his book and hammer he crushed the best of what the leaders could send at him yet. he tried his best to keep everyone alive. The duels point was to show that a battle with the gods was possible, not kill the few men that could aid him in the coming battles.

But some still believed he was tricking them and no matter what he did they wouldn't listen. Until of course the man of death came. It was without warning that scouts reported the dead were rising from the crypts of an ancient battlefield and were stalking the few peasants that had attempted to make a life their. Without a word he had left the city with a small group of men to deal with the problem and nearly lost his life because of it. A man with the powers of the gods had rose up with artifacts much like his own and was using them for his own devices and didn't care who was hurt in the process.

Gripping the window frame he remembered the sounds of the dieing and the bargain that was struck after the battle. The man hated the gods and wished them dead with so much fury that he himself was worried. While he only wished to seal them away forever this man was seeking the impossible. But before blows were dealt to them a truce of sorts was stuck. He would lead the armies of the mortals to the battlefield and the mage would use his powers to bring about the best outcome for them. It was simple and both of them gained something with the end of the gods. Thou he wished he knew the mages other goals for the future.

Signing deeply he turned his head away from the battle scarred land and returned his gaze back to the map in front of him. It showed the number of monster sightings about the land and the men that were sent to deal with them. He hoped that they would return with the creatures heads but he knew some would not and he would have to personally go out and deal with it. Personally he would rather have his men be skilled enough to take out such creatures but to keep peoples faith in him he had to go out and show them. A task he use to enjoy more then anything but with his responsibly growing by the day leaving the city wasn't much of a choice.

Seating down in a chair he looked over at the doorway and wondered when the mage would come in. They had planned to talk about the coming battles and see what else they could do to plan for the tasks ahead. "I do hope that he's more civilized now."

Morgath silently approached the door his cloak draped behind him, right behind, his five 'assistants' followed. His sword was in its sheath at his side and his staff made a slight tap as he walked. He voice was low and harsh as he issued instructions to the five behind him in a unknown tongue, possibly of his creation. Two hurried forward to open the door for him, they didn't speak, they never spoke. All hidden in deep cloaks, willing to do their masters bidding at any moment, willing to die to serve him. These were once human but Morgath had warped their minds, they were more like ghouls, servants and a source of extra power, beyond ever being influenced mentally by another. They knew nothing but to serve the master, kill for the master and be killed to serve the master. All sign of intelligent life, long gone.

The ominous tapping of the staff was the only noise from the group. Guards cowered away from him, his invisible eyes seeming to bore into their very flesh. His laugh started softly but soon it howled through the keep, a manics laugh, a madman's laugh, no sign of humour, only cruelty and insanity. He was silent by the time the echos had faded as he stood before the door. Beyond this door stood a man of light, goodness, leadership, it disgusted him. When the gods were finished, he would have to die. For the new world order to begin.

Morgath stopped his walk and gestured his servants to remain behind. He didn't have to see if they caught it, his verbal and mental instructions had already be relayed. He flicked his bony fingers out the door as he he strode forward into the room, the door slamming by an invisible force behind him in a bone jarring bang, which Morgath seemed to enjoy. As though he could feel the winces of the guards that did not dare try to stop him, even if he had come to tear down this keep. His simple presence making the room seem to ice over, as though all sources of heat were extinguished. He knew the people thought he was death, and he laughed, they knew nothing! He would teach them, death wasn't just cold, he killed. Just as Morgath would kill. Perhaps he was death, he smiled, death to those that opposed him.

He nodded slightly and spoke to the filth known as Ladric, Morgath could not see why mortals trusted this fool to be their leader. But Morgath had a deal, and he always was true to his promises, it was probably the only good part about him. "You wished to see me, goody two shoes" His voice hissed and cracked like he was starved of water and had been for years, mockery oozing from his very tone, though clearly it was a statement, not a question. The only part of his face that showed from the hood, was his mouth, and it was sneering, though the skin looked a very unhealthy black tinge. He let go of the staff completely to step forward, eyeing the map. The staff stayed there, exactly as it was left, as though it too feared the wrath of its master, should it more.

He chuckled darkly, "The final battle approaches... What do you require of me?" he looked up at Ladric, his eyes seeming to bore into him too. Though still hidden in the eternal darkness of his hood.

Ladric ignored the chill slowly moving up his spine. He knew it was Morgath's magic at work and after the first few encounters with it Ladric became nearly immune to it's chilling touch. Yet it still affected his men and he didn't need them thinking about resting within the earth while on the field of battle. Morgath's voice broke his train of thought as he heard the malice in his voice. It brought a smile to his lips as he knew they both wished to end one another's lives yet due to powers outside of their control, and his quick thinking, they were now linked by the cords of fate to change the world.

"Well worm food take a look before you. The terrain of the battlefield is practically in front of you. We have the hills to the east of the city. We can use them to shield the troops from incoming fire, place archer regiments upon, break Calvary charges and with your magic fortify the location from all but the strongest of enemies. No mere monster will take this location from us." As Ladric pointed his finger down at a hilly area of the map and then moved it slowly westward. He was pleased at his strategist's selection of the location and slightly let it slip that he was pleased as well as he spoke.

"My question to you is what is it that the gods can do to take out this location? Could they shallow the hills whole, make spikes erupt from the ground, turn it into the earths blood, and most importantly can you stop them from doing it?" he gave Morgath a serious look and he knew it would make any of his men answer then and there but Morgath didn't seem to fear anything at all. But who could when they killed anything around them without as much as shedding a single tear. It was a sickening feeling to know that the man in front of him had taken so many lives and now they were paired together, for better of worse, till the conflict of men and gods came to an end.

"If you must think about it then do so but I seek an answer to this soon. My masons are awaiting my word to start construction of our fort and if I wish to complete it on the time table that they selected I need this figured out as soon as possible." Ladric would yell or threaten Morgath with hanging if he was but a normal man at this point but he couldn't do anything unless he wished to see his city and armies die and leave him alone to battle the gods and their armies. That more then Morgath's power left him with a chilling thought.

Screams echoed through the streets of a small village as fiery demons cackled loudly and ran rampant, leaving trails of scorched earth. Bodies were strewn all across the ground, both inside and outdoors. Their bodies were bloodied and torn asunder and they laid in gruesome, unnatural positions. In the middle of the town stood a man with a grim yet mischevious smirk on his face. He seemed not to belong in the horrific scene. Around him stood a ring of poorly armed soldiers.

They stood stock still, afraid. After a few long moments one of the younger men, out of bravery or stupidity, rushed the man in the center. Before anyone could've known what had happened, the boy was on the ground with a whip of fire tightened around his throat. No one mourned his loss. "Enough games. I'm bored." The man pulled from his coat a small box adorned with terrifying scenes of cities and people. "Remember my name in death... Ashe." The last word was lost on the wind as the god unlatched the box and pulled up the lid.

A massive shockwave radiated from the very spot where Ashe stood, releasing primal chaos into the world. Homes and buildings crumbled, fires blazed as flaming boulders fell from the sky, and the very earth split beneath the feet of the humans. Seconds turned into minutes and the peaceful village was reduced to a burning heap of rubble and death. "I'm done here..." Almost as quick as it was unleashed, the chaotic forces rushed back into the box and left the mortal realm to its own devices. Ashe turned and began walking before he disappeared into a burst of flame.

Morgath cackled madly, "You need some lessons in how to insult others, Worm food isn't exactly cutting as far as insults go." he paced back, evidently remembering the map and not needing a reminder. "As to what the gods can do... perhaps I should make a list of what the gods can't do, it would make for a far shorter list. But I have a solution, let these men get slaughtered, or better yet, let me slaughter them and then I shall raise the bodies into my service. Fear and such weakness will never be a problem again. But your such a holy champion of this filth, that you will so no. I will put it this way, there is nothing that they can do that I can't counter. Unless multiple gods start attacking, then it won't matter what they can and can't do, cause we will be screwed. Well... you will, I'll defend myself."

Morgath seemed to like this concept alot. Then he smiled a chilling look, "However, I would advise you to make your men create the best defensible position with plenty of defensive measure that I can enchant, it is easier making defences that are already there powerful, creating them from scratch is harder, more time consuming and less effective. So make us much defences as you can, as you complete them, tell me, I'll do the rest. I also have some special ideas that I will try." Whatever these were the look on Morgath's mouth sugested that you would feel sorry for anyone that tried to get through them. "Oh and one more thing, make sure your men know, not to go milling around the defences once I have armed them. Stay out of them until the battle, as these defences will attack anyone going the wrong way. So it will kill deserters just as well as the hordes of horrors attacking. Just so you are warned. I will try to make the enchantments closer in to the base more selective, so it only kills our enemies, but the outer defences will have no such selectiveness, you come from a direction and it will slaughter you, regardless." he smiled evilly.

"Oh and tell them one more thing, build me a watch tower, outside of the defences, to the side, I need to be able to see what it going on at all times. Without distractions. And I guess, if I'm up a tower, the effects of my presence may be less on your men. No guarantees, I don't really care you see, but I need that tower." Morgath gripped his staff again, "And try to stay alive, it would be such a shame if I had to take over the world afterwards, without you." he laughed evily, sarcasm oozing from his words.

PostSubject: Re: War of the Gods -[IC | Open]-   War of the Gods -[IC | Open]- I_icon_minitimeTue Jan 13, 2009 8:38 pm

“YOU ARE FOUL!” shrieked a voice, so broken and warped with anger it sounded inhuman, each venomous syllable spat with an agonising revulsion. “You filthy toad, you louse, your soul is rotten! FOUL! There is balance lost, balance must be upheld, you KNOW THIS!”

Sehamine screamed in her rancorous fury. The pupils of her eyes burned gold against the shining crescents of her irises. The intricate labyrinth of shadowy veins spread from her smouldering eyes, melting into the cracks where her flesh had ruptured swollen rubies across her forehead to form her eternal, immovable diadem; the veins surged and darkened, and the black surrounding her violent eyes grew deeper.

Her head lowered, the thick silk of her hair tangling within the spirals of her horns, she screamed at solid nothingness. Her body was bent double, her muscles tensed from anger as she lashed out at Xion, despite his absence. “You beast, monstrous vulgarity!” Her hands curled into fists, the solid silver nails of her exquisitely adorned fingers piercing her skin. Her features moved perfectly in her rage; her extraordinary beauty reflected more in her wrath than in her equanimity. “The stolen life of a God must be counteracted by a thousand liberations, you know this! You have shattered the symmetry of the Earth, which must be restored, and at what cost?! An army of brilliance for you to smite with a single blow, a nation of wonder and discovery that you will conquer in one strike?! DO NOT FORCE ME TO CREATE MORE FOR YOU TO DESTROY!”

Ravenous thunder erupted and streaks of spewed lightning caught in the eyes of the Goddess as her ferocity fused with the atmosphere. As rain, intense and cold, plummeted from the heavens, Sehamine drew deep breaths. When she spoke again, her voice was dry, slow, and bitter. She spoke directly into the mind of Xion.

“The senseless heads of those who kill for nothing- they value at nothing, and rest assured, your honourless murder, your carnage without forewarning and no chance for resistance will ensure you suffer its consequences. Where is your mark of respect for those who battle for causes they rely upon? You flout the rules of this Earth, Chosen, and you mark against the Sister Goddess. You have begun this.”

Xion simply smiled as the voice of Sehamine played in his mind. He shook his head, transmitting his dual-toned voice into the mind of the Sister's Chosen. Calm and tactful, simultaneously playing together with vengeful and cruel, Xion's voice could boom in anyone's mind as he spoke directly to them from another realm entirely. Ah...Sehamine. Such a one-sided vision, you hold. Don't you see - that the mortals are trying to become gods, themselves, to destroy us as we destroy each other?..and gods...leading these mortals, and falling away from both your Goddess and Alzir... Why would I offer forewarning to those who seek to kill me and our kind? Only a fool gives up the element of surprise during a war.

Xion stopped for a moment, pulling up his battle-axe as he felt the presence of one of his own gods being felled in the Mortal Realm. He focused on the lack of life that had once been, and materialized in the realm of the mortals, letting the axe fall in a slight arch, only to miss as the mortal leaped out of the axe's range with surprising speed and agility. "Immortal!", Xion screamed, latching his axe to a holster-like contraption on his side. He rushed forward, using every ounce of speed available to him. He was on top of the Immortal before the man ever realized the God was going to move, his hand open, and his palm planted firmly against the Immortal's face. Dropping swiftly to one knee, Xion threw the Immortal's head into the ground below, sending a wave of force throughout the immediate area, along with an indeterminable number of cracks in the dry, lifeless ground.

As he stood again, Xion returned his attention to the 'conversation' he was having with Sehamine. Bring forth whichever targets you like, Sehamine. I will crush them all in my siege to crush you...and tell your Goddess that I will be seeing her, as well, in time. Xion grabbed the head of yet another mortal, and dematerialized. As he appeared again within the realm of the gods, the mortal's being turned to a shadow-like dust, which was released as Xion let out yet another War Cry that shook the very fabrics of the realms.

PostSubject: Re: War of the Gods -[IC | Open]-   War of the Gods -[IC | Open]- I_icon_minitimeTue Jan 13, 2009 11:31 pm

The Goddess of the Underworld toyed lazily with a stone as she leant against one of the greyed and gnarled lifeless statues of what was once a grand tree, the life and soul of it sucked out of it by her touch. All around her, the life was leaving the forest, creating a circle of death and decay. She was bored, yet she had decided to let her pets roam amongst the forest, twenty five feet high beasts covered in fleshlike scales. Their heads were bone hard with spikes, their tails like whips, yet for all their size, they were quiet like the shadows. They were impervious to most mortal attacks, but relished a fight, something they did not get to do much, with the mortals cowering before them. It was the souls of the mortals they were after, the more fight they had in them, the stronger the soul.

The sound of a foot being laced carefllu on the ground behind her caused her to only raise an eyebrow, ne of her three pets had returned. "What have you for me, Caim?" Her voice was seductive and smooth, like velvet on silk. The demon behind her huffed, clearly displeased that she had heard him. I have what you asked for. A mortal who is strong enough. His rough voice grated over her mind, gravelly and harsh. She nodded once, and the beast turned and left, leaving a man standing on the edge of the circle. His wide eyes took in all before him, including the Goddess.

She smiled to herself as he weighed up his options, to run or to fight. In the end, his foolishness had convinced him that she was just a little lady, and that he could take her on in a fight. What he hadn't thought of, was that this little lady didn't play fair. His pride was swelling as he recounted his kills, as was his anger at Kali for keeping him waiting. "So whatta we gottere?? A wench for me, unda tha trees!" It was now that his lust for her brimmed over, clouding everything else in his mind. "C'mon love, why dontcha come 'n' show me watcha got?"

The bait had been taken, and there was only one thing on his mind right now. Kali got up from her place under the barren trees, and smoothed down her cloak. She turned to face the man, knowing full well that she looked perfect, she was perfect. She looked the man up and down, taking in his bloodied face, the armour that had been dented and scratched in numerous fights, the sword now facing point down to the ground covered in purple blood. So, he had managed to nick one of the Graggons she thought to herself as she took a step closer to him.

"I only want one thing from you." She spoke clearly and definatively, making sure that he understood every word she said. "Then you can have what you want from me." He was too eager, too quick to agree. She smiled as she crossed the dead earth, her armour moving with each sway of her hips. "I want to know what they are planning, the leaders of your armies. Then, you can touch me."

It was too much for the man to resist her any more, her proximity to him almost unbearable. He began to babble, spilling everything that he knew to her, telling her about Morgath and Ladric. All he needed was a few prods in the right direction, to keep him on track. He told her about the proposed armaments and defenses, about the way that Morgath spread fear into every soldier there. As soon as he had run out of answers for her, he was of no more use and she let him get close enough to touch her.

His eyes widened in surprise, hers darkened subtly til they were red. Yet the change went unnoticed as the man reached out, putting his calloused hand on her face. His next movement was jerky, as Kali smiled evilly, she could feel his soul now. His eyes widened in shock as he now saw Kali for what she really was, the goddess, and his lips began to move fast, with no sound coming forth.

"I'll make you a deal. Be my insider in the fort, and you shall keep your soul. But should I find that you have betrayed me, your soul will never rest, will never find peace. It shall be destroyed, and you will be stuck in the abyss for all eternity. Do we have a deal?" Her voice was no longer smooth, it was now undertoned with maliciousness and spite. He would agree, she knew that much, and it wouldn't do any good to hold onto him for much longer. His head nodded and she let him go, the man collapsing at her feet gasping for air.

"Go, before you are presumed dead, and before the defenses can harm you. By worshipping me, I will hear everything I need to from you. GO!" He scrambled to his feet, running for the closest cover of trees, heading in the opposite direction to where he came from. But she would guide him back with the Graggons, their wild snapping and snarling could be heard from where she stood. Now to plan for battle, as it wouldn't be long before Morgath would notice the man she had touched.

“He fought for what was just, and honourable, and you drew your axe on him with less forethought than you might have been slaughtering a boar!”

Sehamine’s eyes blared bright as the white moon within the darkness of her sockets, and she sensed that the Brother’s Chosen was preoccupied as she felt a tremor swell beneath the ground, extending from where Xion was positioned. Then, his thunderous voice echoed around her head once more.
“Bring forth whichever targets you like, Sehamine. I will crush them all in my siege to crush you...and tell your Goddess that I will be seeing her, as well, in time.”

“For your sake, I hope she will have mercy on your soul, Xion. I shall not.”

Sehamine gasped. “The box,” she whispered, and began muttering and cursing under her breath. “Open the box, you open the box, the box, no…where are you?!!”

The striding male, the arrogance in his swagger, a thoughtless murderer…Sehamine reached out, her slender hand shaking before her, her silver armlets chiming brilliantly at her movements; she found him, and with a fierce clench of her fist and clash of metal, she ensnared his mind. She made it burn, as he had burned the village. He could not move nor speak whilst she entered every space within his mind, and she forced him to envisage her, her tremendous power and beauty, and nothing more.

“Why, Ashe, have you opened the box?” she said coolly. “Chaos, chaos on nothing, chaos on villagers? What has become of you? Have you nothing to fight anymore, Ashe?” She laughed bitterly. Then her voice changed. “Your petty fires, they irritate me, Ashe. They are an annoyance. A mess. I have too much to contend with. Enough.”

With these words, Sehamine struck the Minor God hard, plaguing his mind with a sickness. “I have poisoned you. Beware. The only terror that you cannot escape from is your mind.”

Sehamine closed her wild eyes, and let the silent screams of the Minor God fall away into darkness. She assessed the landscape for signs of death from her domain; unreachable for mortals, she resided within the stratosphere, in a whirl of shifting crystal and white marble; the place held such mysticism and beauty that in legend, it was named Hevanae and said to be where the souls of the true resided after their deaths…its true name was Aeris, and its only residents were Gods; Sehamine and Amora, the Goddess of Gods, as well as others. It was Kali whom Sehamine now searched for; rarely present in Aeris, the Goddess of Death preferred to walk the Mortal realms.

A rush of wind and storm, and Sehamine joined Kali in the midst of a withering forest; the trees seemed to have grown almost black in their decay, and Sehamine sadly brushed her fingers against them to restore life…in her passing, some of the smaller plants retained their colour and blossomed; but in all, the Goddess’ powers were balanced, and neither could kill all or bring all to life whilst they were together. There was friction between the Goddesses; they held the opposite ideals, and there was a constant, powerful force between them; the equilibrium between what is healthy and what is dying, and neither was entirely at ease within it.

Sehamine greeted Kali; also intensely beautiful, even in the Mortal realm, Kali was clearly a Goddess; the intricacy of her armour and the depth of her eyes spoke of it, and the clarity of her features; Sehamine reached out a hand to her.

“Sister, I must tell you, or perhaps warn; Xion has destroyed another of our Fallen who led a mortal army in defence of Amora; he comes for the Sister Goddess and myself. What know you of mortal armies in this realm? I have only picked up scraps of feared names; Ladric and Morgath. Know you of these?”

PostSubject: Re: War of the Gods -[IC | Open]-   War of the Gods -[IC | Open]- I_icon_minitimeWed Jan 14, 2009 2:34 pm

Ladric looked out at the assemble men and women of his armies as he walked onto the platform. Each of their faces burned into his mind as they all had the look of hope in them. That the war would soon end because of his leadership and skill, That he alone had bested there warriors in the honor of the duels, that he would be able to seal the gods away forever and he had never felt more stressed in his entire life. The day was already a trying one as he had left Morgath in the tower as he had stormed out of it in anger.

The man was insane and he was forced to work with him....at least for a time. When Ladric had left the meeting he had to take Morgath's words of insanity to heart. They needed a strong fort to resist the powers of the gods and to do that magic was needed. Ladric had his own mages within the army but they wouldn't even come close to what powers Morgath had amassed. It was like the realm of the dead had poured all of their hatred of the living into his being and gave it a hunger for unimaginable destruction.

His foot touched the top of the platform as he came back to the task at hand. Orders needed to be given to his men and they needed something to do. Days of patrolling and tending to the fields could only appease the population so long. They needed something new and to show everyone that they were going to war and make history.

"My fellow citizen's of Xine. I wish to tell you that today is the day that we start our accession into the realms of the gods. We will make them see what they have done to us and have them answer for their crimes. But to do this we require something that will have them cast their gaze upon us. So I have brought you here to start a massive construction project in the hills to the east of us. Here we will build a castle of such power that it will pierce the very skies above us and open the eyes of the gods. To show them that we will defend ourselves, that we won't let them use us as nothing more then cattle or hogs. That if they attack us we will fight back and we... will... win. " Ladric didn't smile as he heard the cheers coming from the crowd. But he did want them to be happy for the next half of what he said would show him if these people had the ability to deal with the coming storm.

"Yes indeed my fellow Xineties victory can be ours. But..." he changed his tone to a much darker one. "there will be blood, there will be sacrifice. Families will be tore asunder and fields will lie in ashes along with disease running ramp ad around the countryside. That this fort we build now must stand, even when all things are being brought to the ground around us. We must pour everything we have into this structure and then defend it will everything we have. Think of our families, our friends, our ancestors, and let them give you the strength. For if we fail in this war the gods above will give us no quarter and we will never have the peace that we seek. Our bodies, minds and even our souls will be nothing more then their playthings and our world will be forever engulfed in ruin." he heard the murmurs of worry ripple about the crowd as he spoke but they needed to know the truth before he sent them into the gates of oblivion.

"I ask you now not as your Lord General but as a fellow mortal. Will you aid me still and support me in my goal. For without you I....." he paused for only a moment and then spoke louder. "no. We will have no chance in victory over our foe." Ladric didn't hear the thunder of applause nor the yells of angry citizens. He heard the sounds of chains being linked together as the city slowly started to form up around him. He had their trust more so now then ever before and if he broke it the world itself would surely end with it.

He knew not everyone would give themselves to his cause fully but those that did would stand the greatest chance of making it through the coming times and with those people he would change the world. "Very well then. Masons and mages report to your assigned tents and gather your papers. We march to the hills of eternity by the light of the next sun. Prepare yourself for it will only be the first step in a long and trying journey."

He saluted the gathered crowd and walked off the platform and as soon as he was out of sight he fell to the ground. Letting the emotions he had let build up over the course of weeks and months go and quake around his body. As he let his emotions do their works upon him he mutter only a few words. "May they forgive me if I should fail."

Morgath waited for Ladric to storm down stairs before exploding laughing, for ten minutes he laughed, gasping for breath. He leaned on the window ledge and then caught Ladric start his speech. It was too much, he was literally falling over laughing, clutching his sides, he collasped into Ladric's chair and put his feet on the desk and lounged back. He marvelled at how nicely Ladric had put, most of you mortals, are going to die... but I'm not. And he found it hilarious.

Suddenly his hands clamped down on the arm rests, his mouth contorted in fury, he then roared, "HOW DARE YOU ENTER MY DOMAIN, KALI!" he jumped to his feet and rushed to the window and looked down to the front gate, he eyed the people walking through until the one caugh his eye, a battle wary warrior had be touched by Kali, it was like a beacon. He knew Kali's touch like no other, and he knew what he saw now. He mouth curled into a sneer as he marched down the stairs, in most cases he would have had the man destroyed, but he wanted to gain some insight.

He had his assistants follow him, he ignored the fear he caused as he moved, instead of basking in it like normal. He yelled at the warrior, "Freeze!" and threw out his hand, the man did freeze, long enough for Morgath's assistants to seal him in a summoned cage. Morgath stood infront of the man shaking his head, tuting, "You know, Kali, that was possibly the dumbest thing you have ever done. You should have known I would spot it a mile away. Just as you would spot someone that I bent to my will. So what are you here for? I know that you are just watching and trying to gather information, just like I am." Morgath watched the man silently, he was already a dead man, and he knew it, either way.

Morgath grinned and waved Kali's old staff. "Look what I found, you really should be more careful with what you leave around, darling. Luckily for me, I have managed to bend the staff to my will, oh yes it still has the power that you gave it, and it is still a part of you, but now I control it, by my will. And even if you got it back, it would take, even you, years to undo what I have done and be able to use it once more. But you knew this, so why are you being a peeking Tom?"

Kali checked her armour quickly, knowing perfectly well it was as it should be. Right. It wouldn't be long before the Graggons would return to her side, the made quick work of their quarry and ushering him back to camp. Their size and power would run rings around mortals, and only one was needed for the job, yet she had decided to let all three have a little fun. Their return was quieter than that of their leaving, the three hulking shadows setting up a perimeter around her, like guard dogs protecting what was theirs.

It is done. He is about to enter the fort now. Caim's huge voice informed her, which brought about a smile to her normally blank face. Thank you Caim, Asmodai and Ornias. It must have been hard not to tear his sould asunder, but you have served me well. She circled round to each of them, giving them a pat on the shoulder, and they all settled down onto their stomachs. There was little to worry about at the moment, especially with the wind picking up around them.

We're about to have a visitor, so behave. She warned the three Graggons who had stiffened momentarily, a huge gust of wind had begun to swirl around the deadened trees, hailing the arrival of Sehamine, who steped out from the trees, brushing her hand against one. The tree sprang to life once more, but not in the way that Sehamine would have like, thanks to the balance of powers between them. A sad look passed Sehamine's face before she looked up at Kali, and held out her hand to her. Kali nodded, taking Sehamine's hand, as the Goddess of Creation began to talk.

"Yes, I have indeed learnt greatly of the mortal armies. In fact, there is one just past this forest. Ladric and Morgath are it's leaders, both men feared in their own right. Ladric is primarily it's commander, the one who has the greatest control of his men. He wishes to see us imprisoned, so that we can no longer inflict ourselves upon the mortals he walks with. Morgath, is a little more deranged. His insanity outweighs his physique, and he wishes to see all of us dead so that he can rule. He can however, be killed. I also know that Morgath has some artifacts of ours, one of which is mine, that will help him do so. Oh, and he personally wants to kill Ladric's army and raise them back up as undead. Harder to kill you know..."

The tingly feeling in her fingers from where they touched Sehamine's hand caused her to grimace and pause, the Goddess of Creation unknowingly passing on her talents. Yet, She, the Goddess of Death, was most probably doing the same thing to her, and she wondered briefly what it must feel like. Yet something jerked her from her musings, a familiar voice that was irritated and angry.
"HOW DARE YOU ENTER MY DOMAIN, KALI!" Keeping in touch with Sehamine, she let the other Goddess hear and see what was being said through the eyes of the man she had just let go.

The image of man sweeping down the stair, clad in armour and a black tattered robe, followed closely by five others filled her mind, and she watched eagerly as warriors and peasants alike cowered from him. Kali felt the body stiffen as his assistants surrounded him, on a spoken command by Morgath, as Morgath approached him and began to speak.

"You know, Kali, that was possibly the dumbest thing you have ever done. You should have known I would spot it a mile away. Just as you would spot someone that I bent to my will. So what are you here for? I know that you are just watching and trying to gather information, just like I am.

And even if you got it back, it would take, even you, years to undo what I have done and be able to use it once more. But you knew this, so why are you being a peeking Tom?"

At the remark of her staff, and seeing it being waved at her, she growled, her lips and the mans both pulling up into a sneer, a ferocious sound erupting from his throat, before she controlled herself once more. "Morgath, since you know me so well, why do you ask such a question? I must say, that all things considered, you're looking a little more... decrepit than last time we met. Which reminds me, I'm pretty sure that was when my staff disappeared. How careless of me for leaving it lying around. " Her voice dripped with acidic sarcasm, getting ready to reclaim the soul of the body she had touched.

"I merely just wanted to check up on you, and see how you were going. I must say, you have warped my staff terribly, perhaps it is time I made myself a new weapon. After all, it is just as much a part of you as it is a part of me, which makes you a thorn in my side. A very large and annoying thorn. Oh, and last I checked. THIS IS MY DOMAIN!" Her voice roared throughout the forest and fort, echoing and bouncing off the walls.

Morgath cackled madly, "Decrepit? More slimmed down, jealous? I know you are, little miss fatty. Great! Make me another weapon, it will be come very handy. Never can have too many. By the way you're a pathetic liar, Kali. If this were 'your' domain, then you would be right here, right now, having this conversation face to face. But your scared, cowardly and petty. Perhaps I should execute the man's soul. Never fear, I shall come and put you all down, like the sick dogs you gods are." Morgath sneered at the man. And looked deep into the eyes of the man and straight at the two gods watching. "Oh? A friend! Hello pretty, you must be Sehamine, god of life and things very boring like that. Interesting that you choose to follow Kali, only the complete opposite to you." He then laughed a hollow, chilling laugh, "I have a special plan for you, just like I have one for Kali. I'm sure you will love it, think of it like a vacation to hell. As I learnt several things lately, the first being, God's do have souls and second that God's souls are worth more power than a billion mortal souls. I hope you like the look of me, I'm the new grim reaper of the gods, you'll be seeing plenty of me. And I'll be the last thing you will ever see."

Morgath stepped back and lent on his staff, watching them through the very link in which they were watching him. "Wow, Kali, you must have spent extra time on your demons these days, I was out slaughtering them eariler and they are getting better and better, stronger and stronger, more and more power to feed my reserves and drain yours. I will enjoy purging the word of your pathetic spawn and you too. Haven't you missed me, Darling? I know, you miss me, but luckily, I don't miss you."

Sehamine had listened and seen through the eyes of Kali until she could bear it no more.

“YOU DARE!” She roared, eyes black as hell. “YOU DARE SPEAK TO MY SISTER IN THIS WAY! BLASPHEMOUS, SACRILEGIOUS SCUM!”

She had not even heard his offensive manner towards herself; by that point her mind had been incapacitated by her unspeakable fury at his behaviour towards Kali.

…The way the mortal creature had each word crafted to become cruel and mocking as though Kali were a brainless animal…Sehamine snarled as she visualised taking his warped skull in her slender hand and crushing it into dust…

“I OUGHT TO KILL YOU WHERE YOU STAND!” she screeched.

“You DARE to mock us…you think we have the capacity to FEAR you?” Her rage turned to madness, and she threw back her head and laughed, as hard and clear as diamond. “Grim Reaper of the Gods!” she scorned, and then as suddenly as the hilarity had caught her, she launched back into wild ferocity.

“You are INCAPABLE of even COMPREHENDING THE ENORMITY OF THE POWER THAT WE POSSESS OVER YOU, MORTAL!!!”

She paused, and titled her beautiful head to one side.

“And you cannot unleash one thousandth of the might that resides within that staff,” she hissed.

Sehamine took in everything that was this psychotic undead being. He decayed where he stood. The Goddess sucked in the deathly air, and spoke fast, as if to get rid of a curse that was afflicting her. Every syllable rang.

“Foremost; each inch of this mortal realm is our territory and domain, which we have directed every detail of for Millennia, you sordid, ignorant vermin.” She spat the words.

“And lastly; I am so far from ‘pretty’ that you will spit the pleas in blood as you implore and pray – to a GOD - that you’d never laid your rotten eyes upon me.”

Sehamine dropped Kali’s hand, and the vision vanished. She looked upward, toward the sky, which crackled with energy and swirled in an ominous grey.

“That was truly the most disgusting thing I have ever been misfortunate enough to have bared witness to, Kali,” she said dryly.

Xion had quickly forgotten his conversation with Sehamine. He'd transferred himself from the realm of the gods to the realm of mortals again, feeling a vicious tremble in the pantheon. He felt such things when either a god had fallen, had become more than slightly enraged, or had been killed. He also felt such things when Ashe opened Pandora's Box...and that was exactly how this had felt. He came into existence in a sea of flames. Indeed, his general had opened the Box here. General Ashe...come see me on the plains of the mortals. It is about time we began our lesson-teaching on these humans and their immortals. He smiled, sniffing the air as if to find a scent he had longed for upon the wind.

Smiling ever more maniacally, Xion looked straight to his East. I've found you...Kali...and Sehamine is with you? Oh how wonderful the day. Tell me...do I flatten you, first...or get rid of that pest Chosen of my Liege's sister? Or perhaps I shall skin the humans in your vicinity, and wear their hid as a second skin while I personally remove the heads from your force-less bodies? What do you think, Sehamine? He laughed heartily, before offering another War-Cry that shook the Pantheon, his dual-tone vocals pulling on the very fabric of reality that surrounding his army-in-waiting.

Ashe! I give you reason to bring Pandora's Box to the realm of the mortals! Come! I have found our targets for this day! Those gods that would congregate with the very humans that seek to destroy them! Xion let forth another laugh that bellowed from his core... Yes...Xion was the God of War...and war was what passed through his mind with each passing second. He had little need for anything else, as long as there was a being to eradicate, a civilization to destroy, or a mountain to bring down on top of an army. To Xion...talk was cheap...and the lives of those who did so were valueless...worth less than nothing.

Remember your words well, Sehamine...for they will come to haunt you, this day. I have found you...and I believe it is my turn in this game of tag. Will you stay and fight?...and risk the lives of those around you...or will you run and hide...and show your true colors? Grinning darkly, Xion planted a single, powerful foot into the fabric of the earth's surface, and pushed off with enough force to propel himself into the center of a mortal army which had been making an attempt to flank the God of War. Sure...he was going to make his way to Kali and Sehamine...but why not have a little fun with the mortals, first?

As he landed in the center of the troops, he spun, swinging his mighty War Hammer in a semi-arc, sending the light bodies of the humans out from the ranks like small pieces of sawdust in a might torrent of wind. With more than half the mortals' army hitting the ground far away in disfigured mounds, Xion hitched his hammer back to it's fitting on his back, and rushed in on the small remainder of mortals, driving his fists and head into all that came withing range, surrounding himself with the tranquil sounds of crushing bones and ripping ligaments. His omnipresent smile broadened as he crushed an entire first flank army in under forty-five seconds...his mind and soul brimming with the love of destruction.

"Why am I afraid?" Ladric thought as he suddenly came out of his emotional state of being. Covered in sweat, dirt, and peddles he got himself off the ground and brushed himself off as best he could. Not really knowing how he looked he exited the tent and a small ground of soldiers came to his side. Each of them in light armor so they could keep pace with him. He nodded to each of them and before he even asked them one of his guard spoke.

"Morgath is on the ground Lord General he seems to have gone mad again and screaming at one of the soldier we believe." said Tomas.Ladric quickly looked at two of this guards. "Make sure everyone is outside of his fear aura and get them out of earshot. I don't want anyone getting scared when things are this close to coming to fruition." His men saluted and quickly passed the word along. Soon people were leaving the area as Ladric made his way towards Morgath's area.

It was easy to find as he watched the panicked looking faces of people rush by him. His guards also started to get a look of fear upon them as he got closer. Holding his hand up he motioned for them to stop. "You need not go farther. Your bravery is not to be tested by a mad man but the gods themselves. Wait here till I return." his men made a move to follow but he held up his hand. "Do not have me make this an order." Ladric said with a hint of anger. They rooted themselves to the ground then.

Pleased at his guard he headed towards Morgath and some odd looking man that seemed unaffected by the aura. Ladric himself started to breath as he walked to calm his wild emotions and most of all the fear Morgath was pouring off of him. Ladric found it easy to think of a simple task him talking to Morgath as the fear seemed to weaken as he did so. It was ether that or he was getting immune to it after such a long time at being exposed to it. He didn't know which.

"MORGATH!" Ladric yelled towards the mage. "Who is this man and why do you speak to him so? He looks angry, because of something that you no doubt did I will guess." Ladric got a bit closer as he paused to collect himself from the fear affects. "Sir I apologize for this mage. He.... well....he is far different then anyone else on this world."

Morgath cackled, it echoed, and went through Sehamine's rant. He paused for breath, "If I had working tear ducts, I would be crying right now..." he stared down the eyes not even moving. "Done yet? Good" as Sehamine let go of Kali's hand and broke her connection. He turned calmly to Ladric, "Now, now, don't you want to speak to Kali? She has been most interesting so far, shame her friend Sehamine doesn't understand fear well enough to know to feel it when she sees me. And as to what I am doing, I am stopping our godly watchers from ruining the fun of surprise."

He paused as he heard Xion's war cry far away. "His voice does carry" he turned and looked into the eyes of the man, at Kali again, "Perhaps you shoudl worry about the brute that is making his way towards you. After all, I want the fun of killing you, so don't ruin my fun and go getting killed. And remember, everyone loves surprises... so don't try to spy on us anymore. Or I will be forced to act." Morgath looked faintly disapproving for a moment then chuckled darkly again.

"Kali? What are you talking about Morgath? This is a man of lower birthright then others. He is no goddess." But even as Ladric said this pieces of the puzzle were starting to fall into place. The man showed no fear of Morgath but rage. Had Morgath just stopped Kali from entering his base and learning all that he was attempting to do? Had Morgath gone something good for a change? No that couldn't be true....yet this man was standing right in front of him as living proof. These thoughts raced about his mind within seconds as he unclipped his war hammer from his side.

"If this is indeed a Goddess that rests within this man I wish him gone from this place. If Kali herself can hear me now then I wish for this. You may leave this place with your fleshy vessal and do with it as you please or I will take it from you and grant this poor man what peace I can in his death. Choice now for I have your demise to plan." As he brought his war hammer in front of him to ready a killing blow.

Kali simply yawned at Morgath threats, but Sehamines' outrage at the mage was not so well contained. The right hand corner of her lips turned up, not quite a smile, but not the sneer that was there earlier. As Sehamine ranted, Kali muttered something under her breath, something that Morgath would not hear. There was trouble coming to the mortal realm, and Kali almost screamed with delight as Sehamine broke her connection with her fingers. The numbing tingly feeling dissappated as Kali opened and closed her fist, as Sehamine spoke to her.

“That was truly the most disgusting thing I have ever been misfortunate enough to have bared witness to, Kali,”

Well you wanted to know what to expect. And that's it. Personally you can have him. I'm not terribly interested in Morgath.. It's more Ladric that I want. She thought this directly into Sehamine's mind, as she was still connected to Morgath in the soldiers body. Oh, and Sehamine, watch your temper around me, I wouldn't want to think that my nature is overriding yours. Now she turned her attention back briefly to Morgath but not before Xion's voice crackled across the air.

"Xion," The name rolled off her tongue, the purring of her voice layered in tones of seduction. "I was but waiting for you, providing myself as a distraction to these lowly mortals until you arrived. Seeing as how my job is now done, I'll be taking my leave. You know where to find me if you want me. If you know what I mean..." Her voices trailed off, before her eyes snapped back onto the form of Morgath, yet it was the striking man beside him that was more intriguing.

"Oh Morgath, I'm not worried about him, I more concerned about you getting in the way. But Sehamine has placed dibs on you, so maybe I should just give her a few pointers on exactly what you don't like." She looked at Morgath briefly, trying to work out the inner workings of the insane man, but she didn't have nearly as much time as she would have liked when Ladric spoke up.

"Ladric. I mean no harm to this man, yet he shall not survive much longer. Whether it is from any of our hands, he will be killed. However, I just wish to impart a small amount of information to you as we speak. Xion is creating havoc amongst your ranks, killing all who stand in his path. You, Ladric, cannot afford to stand against him, but Morgath here has the means, to ressurrect those who have passed. They will be stronger, yet they will possess no souls, so Morgath, if you are the tiniest bit sane, they will not simply heel when you order it. They are killing machines, and it would do well to keep them apart from the living."

She knew what was happening without seeing it, as the influx of souls grew heavy. She was quickly removing the souls from the battle field, so that Morgath could not use them, and so that Sehamine and herself could see them on. "We will meet in the field of battle, but until then, I suggest you look to your men!" And with that, the connection was broken. The man's soul she brought with her, leaving the body to fall to its knees. Her touch, which she had placed their earlier caused the body to shrivel up and wither, turning to dust before the space of ten seconds were out.

"Sehamine, we have company, which I'm feeling to quite happily avoid for the moment. I shall retreat to my domain, to try and sift through the souls that have been reaped today, call me if you need me." Her fingers snapped once, a huge fissure opening in the ground at her feet. The Graggons needed no encouragement as the sprung up from their crouch and leapt into the crevice, Kali stopping at the edge for only a second as she turned back to Sehamine. "Unless you wish to join me?

"General Ashe...come see me on the plains of the mortals. It is about time we began our lesson-teaching on these humans and their immortals." Xion's voice boomed in Ashe's head. He stood in his domain, a plane of eternal fire and chaos, staring into a pool. As the fires and energies raged around him, he silently pondered what Sehamine had done to him. "I have poisoned you. Beware. The only terror that you cannot escape from is your mind.” Her voice still plagued his thoughts. Xion's voiced echoed once again, finally drawing Ashe's attention.

"Ashe! I give you reason to bring Pandora's Box to the realm of the mortals! Come! I have found our targets for this day! Those gods that would congregate with the very humans that seek to destroy them!" Ashe smirked at the thought of doing battle with another god. In a mishevious but sinister voice, he replied, "Then they shall burn the same as those wretched humans." The god raised his right hand and from the flames, rose two colossal figures erected from brimstone and glowing ash. With his weapon in one hand and the sacred box hidded in the recesses of his clothing, Ashe departed for the mortal realm.

After a few seconds, Ashe opened his eyes to the sight of soldiers being slaughtered before Xion's onslaught. He chuckled harshly as he watched a small group of three or four men attempted to take the God of War from behind. "Fools." Jets of flame erupted from the very ground on which they stood, incinerating them. "I have arrived."

Vanahar stood, as always on the right. On the right of what he would never be able to say. It was a presence, a omniscient concious that gave him his orders, sending him to the mortals to give them strength and guidance, or penance and retribution, depending on the circumstances. It was not a God, as such. Nor was it anything of the mortal realm, at least, not any more. Now it pulsed, contorted, roiled in the state of what was going on, the clash in the realms. War was approaching and Justice was needed.

The thick, cloudy feeling deepened in his head. Vanahar could understand the feeling, the language comprehensible after so much time.

"You...must go...Stop...suffering...bring back...the light..Go....Go...Discover the true....corrupter...find the...Gods....fight...for those...that believe...in true...justice...Go.."

The feeling always seemed drawn out, pained in some way. Vanahar had always wondered if this was linked to the suffering in the mortal realm, but had never asked. Donning the plated armour that materialised beside him, Vanahar prepared. The straps held the chest piece tight, the greaves against his legs and the large pads across his shoulders, whilst the other armour plates attached through a series of chain links and latches, fully protecting his body. Then came the helmet, plain in format with a small number of glowing gold etched runes around the rim that circumvented the face. His shield, nearly twice as tall as he, was made of the God iron that fell in the mortal realm, imbued with other worldly powers, and nigh upon indestructible. He had even etched it with some runes in the very centre to aid it's strength.

His weapon was a large war maul, a great hammer that would require any mortal to wield it with two hands, if not with aid as the great stone sat atop the shaft was made of crystallised rock, plucked from the earth's very core itself, shaped my magic and immortal power. The staff had a series of spiralling runes etched all the way from the bottom to the top of the shaft; each a different prayer of strength, hope, power and shielding. It sat in Vanahars' hand as though it belonged.

"I am ready." he spoke, his voice echoing around the empty space whence he stood vigil with his master. The presence exerted itself over his thoughts once more, and, with that small blessing, Vanahar launched himself backwards, and fell from the sky like a golden thunderbolt to the fire scorched earth below.

“Don’t worry, my nature is entirely my own,” said Sehamine, a slight ferocity in her voice. Anger was still writhing in her blood at Morgath. “And, as for that,” she said, “I’m not sure that I really want him.” The idea of having to deal with the decaying creature repulsed her.

Xion’s voice rang right through them both, but she allowed Kali to speak for her. The mortals, Ladric and Morgath, she felt were not worthy of her interest or time. She scowled when Ruby’s mention of her name caught her attention.

"…Sehamine has placed dibs on you, so maybe I should just give her a few pointers on exactly what you don't like.” She sighed.

Very well,” she said quietly to herself. It would not take much to dispose of Morgath.

The Goddess waited patiently for Kali to finish, leaning her slender body against a nearby deadened tree. Upon her impact, the tree’s death reversed itself, almost pulsing with the course of life that Sehamine unconsciously gave it, its colour bleeding back into its bark and new leaves erupting from buds that suddenly bloated along its branches.

"Sehamine, we have company…"

However, as the Goddess of Death spoke, that bellowing voice rumbled inside Sehamine’s head, drowning out all other noise.

Remember your words well, Sehamine...for they will come to haunt you, this day. I have found you...and I believe it is my turn in this game of tag. Will you stay and fight?...and risk the lives of those around you...or will you run and hide...and show your true colors?

A crevasse tore through the ground, shaking the earth. Kali’s monsters threw themselves into it.

"…Unless you wish to join me?”

Sehamine shook her magnificent head, both in refusal and to shake away Xion’s ringing in her mind. “Sorry, sister,” she said, smiling. She too, could feel the pressing weight of the increasing dead upon her, and sighed. “I have… things to do…”

Her voice trailed off, and she lowered her head once more in farewell, before turning swiftly away and striding through the rotting forest. Air flooded her lungs once more as Kali’s presence vanished – she had released her stronghold of death, and the forest blossomed once more…Sehamine tilted her horned head toward the sky and with a snatch of air in her delicate hand and a chime of armlets, the crackling clouds vanished and a gush of wind and sun surged into the forest, the torrent of light casting shadows that rippled and swayed in the life of the trees, until all was green and healthy but a set of footprints, charcoaled into the forest foundations.

The sunlight caught the gold in Sehamine’s unusual hair, and even though she was duller in human form than Goddess, she was still extremely beautiful. The strange, crimson stones fixed in her forehead flashed in the light, and beneath them, her eyes. She was excited.

Xion,” she whispered into the wind. “I am waiting…”

The sky cracked, and Sehamine swirled around, gaze on the heavens. The flash of golden brilliance and the unfolding of a great pair of wings was extraordinary, and remained one of the few things that made Sehamine feel that there was still beauty, and good in the world, despite the horrors of the wars.

She kept these thoughts private.

“Vanahar!” she called, into the Demi-God’s head. I feel I may be in need of some aid.” At least, she wanted his easing presence. “Xion draws nearer…today he has already slaughtered a Fallen who fought for us and Kali knows how many innocent, unaware mortals…”

Sehamine’s speech wavered. She loathed Xion, in such depth it was unfathomable; every bone in her body seethed rage at him, every fibre tensed at his name…her own words rattled inside her skull…There is balance lost, balance must be upheld, you KNOW THIS! DO NOT FORCE ME TO CREATE MORE FOR YOU TO DESTROY!

She began to shake under the burden of the deaths that had occurred and the equilibrium that she had not yet restored. Should she destroy Xion, the price would be dire, have a cataclysmic weight, and Sehamine would have to correct it. She shook harder, rage swelling within her.

Her tone changed. “Come here,” she demanded of Vanahar, leaving him with little choice as she willed him to come to her, the inert power of her influence leaking into the Demi-God’s head.

Xion stood majestically, poised for an ancient battle among the gods, with his battle axe over his shoulder. "Ashe...Come. Let us show these insulate curs the meaning of true fury. As we speak, Sehamine and Vanahar await us. Leave these mortals to our underlings." A wide grin spread across Xion's features as his grip tightened on the haft of the axe. You shall wait no longer, Sehamine., he called to her in her mind. He leaped from the ground, the force of his departure throwing a crater into the earth's surface. The cracks spread on for a few feet after the crater formed, then came to a stop, looking very much like a large spider web in the ground's surface.

"Hah!", Xion bellowed, before releasing another bone-chilling War Cry. He arced his axe up and over his shoulder, and brought it down perfectly on the center of a mortal cranium with a sickening 'Pop'. He'd made absolutely sure that the hammer did not crush the entire human, but only land perfectly atop the human's skull as he landed in a crater similar to that one he made with his departure. The dent he made in the surface of the ground upon landing, however, was enough to throw a small strike force of mortals flailing away from him, as he stood, straightening from the falling-strike he had made to the mortal. "Are you ready to play, Sehamine?", he grinned to the Chosen of the Sister Goddess, his dark amethyst eyes squinting as if he dared her to make a move.

With a throw of his foot, he removed the mortal from his stuck position on the head of the Warhorse's battle hammer. "Forgive me, Sehamine...I nearly left my Hammer ornament attached for our play period.", he laughed fully, now. Squinting his eyes, he looked around for a second, before turning his attention back to Sehamine. "Say...where is your lackey, Vanahar?"

OOC= Thanks UA hope I get him right then while I'm playing him

Ladric stood slightly dumbstruck as he himself has listened to the words of a goddess with his very ears. She was one of the many things that he himself was trying to stop and yet she used the man before him like he was nothing more then a toy to play with. "What if she could do the same to me....or any of my men? " he thought as a chill creep ed up his spine as he thought about being nothing more then a toy of the gods to move and kill as they commanded.

"No... that will not happen. My mind is to strong for even gods to break into. I've trained for moment's like this and with the weapons of the gods I should have no trouble in fighting back with just as equal of fury." he thought as he watched the man's body turn to ashes and the goddess last word of advice was spoken. Morgath had a stance of annoyance as the body vanished before their eyes and then he started to laugh. The evil cackling laugh of one that had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

It was something that scared Ladric when Morgath wasn't in his sight or his men. "Fear not my little priest of muscle I will keep that bitch out of your camp. But I do think that I will take up her offer of getting you more men. The undead do not fear death as your men do and I can make a great deal of them in little time. So if you don't mind I think I'll go out and kill some of the townspeople in one of the villages nearby. that way the little goddess can't take them away from me before their souls pass on and I can have some fun." Ladric could swear that Morgath was skipping away as he was going to make his remark come true.

"Morgath wait but a moment. You know as well as I that if you go about killing the locals of the villages everyone that is here will turn on you and the battle against the gods will be lose for you and I. If you seek the corpses of the dead then go to the graveyards and start digging for them. The lives of the living are mine till they fall towards you sick and twisted realm. Should my men fall upon the battlefield you will only raise them if it is needed. I do not wish for fear to run amok in my men's ranks by your foul magic. " Ladric seemed to yell with more force then he first though. But it made Morgath hesitate and turn to face him.

"You think that I'll dirty my hands to go and dig up some worm ridden skeletons that would fall apart form just my breath? What fool for you take me for? Why should I listen to that idiotic idea?"
Morgath spat back at him. "Damn him" Ladric thought as he figured that would delay the mad man from killing his people.

"If you go forth and reclaim the dead long past I will.." Ladric thought quickly for the words he could use to give this man something to do while he planned for the coming battle. "you will be given the right to use your magic's the fullest extent when any battle between the gods and us happen to come about. Should my men fall to your spells then you will be given the right to use them as you see fit. But only upon the field of battle and so it will give us the greatest chance of victory. Not one of my men's life's will be killed for your sick amusement or I will crush that frail form of a body. Is that understood?"

Morgath brought one of his hands to his chin and seemed to think about his words for a moment or two before he turned around and started to walk away. "Very well Ladric. I have your word that when the battle starts your men's lives are nothing more then fodder to halt the coming waves. But don't worry. Once they reform themselves to my likings you'll see the advantages for soldiers that don't need pretty speeches or a rousing banner for them to hold the lines. They will do as I say till they are nothing more then dust. Just as a good soldier is suppose to." He laughed his bone chilling laugh as him and his assistance left the area a Ladric hoped that they were heading for the old graveyard.

Feeling the coldness of Morgath's aura drift away Ladric felt much better and order his soldiers to come to him. They saluted. "Sir?" Ladric turned towards them. "I want 20 men and five mages watching that mad man while he works within the graveyard. Whatever he is going I don't want the townspeople to know about it unless he makes it known. Make him know that I will kill his minions should he give wind of his working's to a local." His soldiers saluted again as they ran off to do his bidding and a scout came running towards him.

"Lord General."
he saluted him. "I bring word of the outlands. Creatures of unknown power have come down from the sky and started to slaughter all in their path. The fires themselves seem to reach up to the sky themselves. What are your orders." Ladric thought for a moment and wondered about the state of his city. Morgath could halt any attack with his magic if he wanted to and his city was heavyily guarded from attack. "Get 200 horsemen ready and 20 wagons. These people will be scattered to the winds when we reach them and we need to gather them up and move a great deal of them as fast as possible. You have less them an hour to make this happen now go!" Ladric yelled. The scout bolted from him as Ladric went back to his castle to don his armor. If war was coming and people were in danger they needed to know that someone in the realm of mortals would give them safety while they still drew breath.
