| He watched the cultists confusion as the ground opened up but he did notice what Scorpio was doing, it was risky and if anything happened, he would take the jump to pull her back but he couldn't risk anyone less armoured to do it. As who knew what she was doing, he was vaguely worried that she didn't know that herself.
Tank reached out and gripped Watch, "Don't worry about her, she can jump the distance." Then he spoke on the comm channel, "Everyone, protect the non-combatants, at all costs. Repeat, Protect all non-combatants. Out." he then punched a cultist in the face as he tried to jump the gap and watched him plummet downwards. He then knelt down and fired 'precision' rounds into the cultists trying to cross... well precision, as in, he didn't miss but still they were was just lumps of metal, he was shooting, and so it didn't matter where he hit them really. Then he added, "And while, I'm all for killing the cultists in anyway, can we please restrict ourselves to things that won't kill squad members and non-combat personal. Grenades and all, are fine... just watch where you throw 'em. Out." |

| Wyvern groans into his comm. "Fine. I'll do it your way. I only have a few grenades left anyways. On my way back. Wyvern out." He switches off his comm and continues to fire at the cultists as he scales down the building to the personel. As they retreat slowly, Wyvern notices a few cultists coming dangerously close to Scorpio. "That girl's gonna get herself killed with heroics..."
He switches his rifles and quickly reloads before taking several shots, each one hitting the cultists square in the chest and causeing them to fall down into the chasm. Wyvern pummels the crazed monsters with round after round of his sniper rifle before the weapon finally runs out of ammo. "Damnit!"
Wyvern switches the weapons once more and begins to fire. Suddenly he stops and turns his comm link back on. "Tank. I'm out of ammo for my sniper and its too far to shoot my assault rifle or throw grenades. Theres too big of a risk. At this range, I'll end up getting Scorpio."
Wyvern moves to the rear of the group and fires only at the odd cultists that manages to find its way around the chasm and towards the unarmed personel. |

| An upbeat voice danced over the comms system, as she changed cards once more. Yet the card she reached for wasn't there, and she looked down at her wallet as the voice continued on its spiel. ""This is trading places with your host Watch. A new game show that will start within the next 30 seconds or so. I do hope you know how to play. Just extent one arm to the left or right and hold your breath. Thank you for your participation." She frantically flicked through the wallet, knowing that she had used the card earlier on Watch to zap him. "Dammit," she muttered to herself as he began counting in her head, before being interrupted by Tank."Everyone, protect the non-combatants, at all costs. Repeat, Protect all non-combatants. Out." Pause. "And while, I'm all for killing the cultists in anyway, can we please restrict ourselves to things that won't kill squad members and non-combat personal. Grenades and all, are fine... just watch where you throw 'em. Out."She didn't have time to reply, swinging her spear around as she dropped the card wallet dangerously close to the edge of the chasm. It would not be in her best interests to lose that down there, and she thrust the spear under the Cultist's arm flipping him over her right shoulder and stamping her foot down on the wallet. Yet as he passed over her, his knife flicked out, and sliced deeply into her bicep, a fierce yell exploding from her as she threw him the rest of the way into the chasm.
Picking up the wallet, she selected another card, and inserted it, a swirling silver pattern on it. As it clicked in, a gust of wind lifted her hair, and she knew exactly which card it was. She looked at a group of cultists heading for her, and reached out with her hand, beckoning with a finger, taunting them to come and attack her. Before they had taken three steps though, a unnatural wind gusted past her, swirling the dust and remains of Cultists up off the ground as it gathered speed, turning into a tornado right before her eyes. The swirling wall of air hit the Cultists full on, and she directed it towards the chasm, letting it hang there for a moment and then releasing it, dropping the Cultists into the chasm. Their pitiful screams echoed out, and she decided it was time to rejoin her squad, before they assaulted her all at once.
A trail of blood streamed down her arm as she backed towards the chasm, pretending that she was too badly wounded to retaliate if they attacked. Her left arm gripped her right, trying to stem the flow of blood as she reached the edge of the chasm. Pausing for a moment, she stopped time, hoping that her trick would work. Testing it quickly she stepped backwards onto hardened air, the wind she was controlling pushing her up. Grinning once more, she started time again, and looked at each of the Cultists in front of her, all within striking distance of her spear. Twirling it feebly, she summoned wind to come up behind them, before jogging a few steps backwards onto nothingness, as the wind hit them from behind pushing them into the chasm. One reached out for her, snagging the hem of her dress, pulling her forward, before the hem gave way, the ripping sound causing his eyes to widen as she stepped backwards once more, before turning as he started falling. She crossed the rest of the canyon quickly, rejoining her suad to defend the rest of the non-combatant personel. |

| "Tank, this is Comrade. That is a negative. The situation here is a little...difficult." Comrade scanned about him, an interlocking mesh of bodies covered him, hundreds of cultists gripped him. Shots rang off his armour constantly, the men upon him trying desperately trying to damage him, and although they were not succeeding, it was only a matter of time before they broke through his outer armour and started hitting his Anvil.
"Tank, shield the non-combatants. Initiating Broken Arrow." Broken Arrow was a protocol named after the military phrase of same name and similar meaning. Instead of calling in all available air cover, it instead disengaged the overarmour explosively and shutdown any low-tier operations. In doing this, it left a larger cache of memory free to be manipulated by other more important processes such as Anvil and the targetting system.
Comrade hoped Tank had heard him, before his processor shutdown the hope and began loosening its grasp on Cormade's system, letting the components work in their base sense. His overamour exploded, throwing all the Cultists from him, shrapnel flying out in all directions slaughtering hundreds of others in close proximity. As Comrade stood up again his processor, which was closely monitoring everything for when it needed to step back in, noticed something strange in the vast hard drive memory cache. Although it had been emptied of all unessential files, there was still 0Gb of memory left, a massive file took up the entire drive. And yet it had no input or output, no actual presence. It was as if it wasnt there.
It was named File 00.
It was Comrade's Soul.

| Tilly was just about ready to punch Wyvern in the face, now their proximities were so close and she could feel the sting of where his misplaced grenade had knocked her down; the jumped-up prick seriously got on her nerves and as they fired their attacks on the oncoming Cultists, they were almost brushing shoulders.
Then three things happened at once, in about five seconds, to which her attention simultaneously snapped to.
The first was that Scorpio had rejoined them, and that she was wounded, and to Tilly’s surprise, she found that this seriously hacked her off; her mind flickered over some instinctual protective flare, but was again distracted.
This distraction came in the form of two walking corpses; mangled beyond identification, they launched themselves at Tilly, drooling and screaming from mouths half blasted off, three arms between them; Tilly’s hands blurred with electrical energy, as traces of lightning slithered out of her hands and entered their lumbering targets…
And the third thing happened, which was that Comrade exploded. Tilly’s attackers were peppered with pieces of metal, hundreds of body’s writhing with the shrapnel’s impact; at the sound, Tilly tensed and pounced, catlike, towards Wraith and Scorpio, her impact hard and hopefully, overthrowing.
A second of almost silence passed, in which Comrade’s voice crackled through the comms.
"Mornen, ladies and gentlemen. Sorry if I missed the party."
Tilly clambered up, and suddenly she felt very stupid.
“Runesmiths, right,” she said to Scorpio and Wraith, her voice flat with embarrassment. “We’re shielded.”
God, memory damage was really crap.

| The wind that she conjured continued to buffet the Cultists on the other side off the chasm, pushing those who got too close to the edge into the black depths. However at the rate of bodies piling up, it wouldn't be long before it was full. Blood continued to stream down her arm, illuminated by the bright flashes of lightning from Tilly's hands.
Comrade's voice broke over comms, negating Tank's order and warning of an impending attack from him. For the life of her, Calixta couldn't remember what 'broken arrow' stood for, and took a few steps back so that she was closer to Spider should she be surprised by Comrade's attack. The explosion that came even Calixta was unprepared for, the armour on Comrade's body peppering hundreds of Cultist as they ran towards them.
A force hit her from the side, and before Calixta had time to react, she landed hard in the dirt, her wounded arm copping all the impact. A pained scream rose from her mouth before she clamped her teeth together to strangle the sound. Twisting her head, she looked around to see what had hit her, and noticed Tilly's sheepish look as Comrade's voice filtered over comms. "Mornen, ladies and gentlemen. Sorry if I missed the party."As Tilly removed herself from them, she tried hard not to grimace and clutch at the arm that was still twisted beneath her, as Tilly apologised. "Runesmiths, right. We're shielded."Rolling her eyes, Calixta held out her good hand to Tilly and spoke "Don't worry about that, help me the fuck up will you?"
Hauled to her feet, she immediately insected the damage, picking out as much dirt and debris as possible from the wound. It would be no good getting infected, and not being able to play in the next skirmish, of which one there would surely be. She flexed her arm carefully, to see if she still had full range of movement, yet something felt off, and she tested her card reader, the wind card still in place. Nothing. Not even a light breeze to play with her hair. "Fuck," she whispered under her breath, wondering if she should tell Tank or not. |

| As Tilly hit Calixta, Wraith switched cards three times in swift succession, activating each and glimpsing momentarily to check they had worked before replacing them. The first created a slow forming bubble that spread itself across their side of the chasm, providing a shield from projectiles - Wraith wasn't sure how long it would last.
The second sent a gout of flame towards a cultist that had thrown himself over the chasm and was scrambling at the side to get up. By the time the flames had died down, the man was gone.
The third sent a boost of energy through each of the party members, revitalising them and sending a shock of adrenaline through their systems as well to help with response times and speed recovery. Wraith wasn't sure if anyone had been hit by Comrade's defence protocol and as such he felt healing the whole party would be beneficial for now.
The only reason he didn't load a fourth card was that he had sprinted around the side of the bubble shield and was hacking at Cultists, kicking them into the chasm and smashing their faces in with his shield in an attempt to reach Comrade. Not because he felt that he might be in danger, but because, for some reason, he had a gut feeling that the newly emerged 'personality' would much rather stay and fight.
A blue circle blinked in the corner of his visor, and Wraith managed to recognise what it meant before it disappeared and his HUD gave him a verbal translation.
Shields, Offline.

| Tank only just caught Comrades warning, he swore viciously and waded through cultists, using his shield and sword for interchangable purpose. Eventually just getting to the non-combatants in time to shield them. After a quick status check he returned to the squad.
"Everyone, Status check, now!" He barked. He was fine but he had a strong suspicion that some of the others were not owning up to injuries or damage. Just as he pulled the corner or his shield out of the skull of a cultist, his foot providing the corpse some momentum towards the filling crater.
The non-combatants were now moving abit faster. So he made the next order; "Everyone, slowly make a tactical reteat. No point leaving to great of a gap between us and those we are protecting."((Sorry its short, kinda on the run right now.)) |

| EVERYTHING. MUST. BURN!
One of the few directives active in Comrade, he spoke them loudly. Although his outer armour was lost, Anvil; the primary defence system, was still active. Added to the reduced immediate threat of damage from the previous explosion, Comrade found time to reload, and take stock of the situation.
Although the main force of cultists in proximity to him had been annihilated, there were hundreds, thousands perhaps, willing to take their place. Calculating average accuracy and supply consumption, as well with predicted reserves of cultists, Comrade estimated a fighting timeframe of six months of sustained fighting. That was providing the cultists continued with current tactics and equipment. the figure rapidly decreased with changes in armour or weapons."Shutdown Procedure Initiated. Shutdown Fail. Error. Return To Supplier"With that Comrade began advancing, slaughtering his was forward. Although he was taking minor damage, it was not enough to cause any damage to his internal systems, the vital components that kept him "alive" as far as a machine could be.
"This is Comrade. Taking the fight to the enemy, Hoo-ah!"

| "Everyone, Status check, now!"
"Wyvern here. Im running on empty! I got one clip on backup and cultists are still coming!"
Wyvern pushed past Tilly to yank Scorpio up from the ground, and watched as Scorpio gingerly flexed her arm and tested her card reader.
“Shit, sorry,” Tilly said, as Scorpio’s rune appeared unsuccessful.
“Spider here; I’ve minor damage from friendly grenades, but I’m fine.”
Somehow some cultists had made the insane leap across the chasm; or perhaps they had walked it, now it was heaped with bodies; and were now crawling doggedly towards them, wounded, advancing unnaturally fast, the vulnerable innards exposed to the air, guts slithering out over their trousers; one had his entire chest cavity blasted open, and Tilly could see the pounding of his heart between his blood-sodden ribs…
“Jesus,” she muttered, freaked; her arm, quite against her own will, suddenly reached up over her shoulder, and her fingers brushed against the hot metal of her longbow – and then it clicked.
Seizing it, she threw it over her shoulder, its long dense frame buzzing; it span wildly through her hands, and then it was in both; the carvings at the limbs were glowing bizarre blue, pieces of magic sparking and shooting through the string; and her right was pulling back on the string, and at the nocking point a great burst of energy was released and then, crackling in her hands, was the most dangerous arrow; a shard of lightning…
And Comrades’ voice roared in all their ears; “EVERYTHING. MUST. BURN.”
She fired it into the cultists, and the longbow sang; and many beautiful things happened to the cultists’ bodies as the lightning spewed them, in such quick succession that they appeared to simply crumple; but Spider saw the explosions of blood from their ears, their tan skin bleed into dark red as their blood vessels burst below their flesh before it was consumed by burning blisters; she saw their metal weapons fuse into the skin they touched, saw their eyeballs rupture, saw their bodies alight with the bright blue magic – for a brief moment, like the deliverance of their souls – before their corpses hit the ground, already dead.

| Wyvern hauled her from the ground, and she gingerly rolled her injured shoulder back, pain causing her face to screw up as she bit her lip. The comms were flying thick and fast with orders and status checks, yes she heeded Wyvern's suggestion and headed towards the transports, retreating from the front line as Comrade started to decimate the Cultists. Iridescent blue flashes made the scene seem surreal, Spider's magica causing the blood to turn black and the Cultists into a living nightmare.
She swapped cards in her reader, hoping that perhaps her wind one had just simply 'run out of juice', selecting a card from random, not even having an idea of what it might do. Yet still there was nothing, it felt like she was missing a limb, and she swore loudly through the comms.
"FUCK! TANK! My offensives are down, not to mention my defensives. SOmething is seriously fucking wrong with my reader, and before you ask me what, I DON'T FUCKING KNOW!" She was now amongst the non-combat personnel, who were scrambling and screaming as they tried to jostle their way onto the remaining transport vehicles.
A heavy set balding man barrelled into her, and she automatically drew her gun with her uninjured hand, and aimed it directly at him. "Move!" His eyes widened and went cross eyed at the barrel, before she took a step closer to him and pushed the gun past his head, aiming at the Cultist no more than twenty metres behind him. "Move now!" she yelled once more, pushing him towards the trucks and away from her.
She fired once, a bullet passing directly between the Cultist's eyes and causing the back of it's head to explode, congealed brains and blood and bone still clinging to the skin as it fell face first into the ground. The people behind her had stopped screaming and all was quiet for a moment, before she turned around and looked at them incredulously.
"Do you want to die? No? Get moving then!" The transport vehicles roared to life, the engines gunning, the drivers impatient to move. This time the crowd moved quicker, and quieter, as they filed into the vehicles.
"Tank, almost all non-combat personnel are loaded into transports, and they're starting to leave."

| "Tank, almost all non-combat personnel are loaded into transports, and they're starting to leave."Tank nodded, "Okay! Everyone back to the transports. Cover each other! Lets go!"
He slowly moved his way back, keeping the whole squad behind him, his armour was still on 54%, and he had nearly 42 rounds left. Though he drew his sword if anything came close. They were forming a semi circle around the transports facing outward at the oncoming horde. He was just thinking he needed a chain-sword... it would make this so much easier. He mentally took note to do that when he could salvage some parts for it.
"Keep it moving people! Secure the transports, I want to know the second all no combat personal are ready to leaved. Be really to get into the closest transport on my go."
He grimly went back to attacking the waves of cultists, there was nothing they could do but retreat, they only had so much ammo and armour and he had no idea how many more cultists there were... he was betting more than they had come across so far. He waited tensely for the call. |

| zero...Reality seemed to ripple like a pond in front of Watch. To his mind it seemed to him that only a fraction of a second seemed to pass before he entered back into the time stream and took a look around. Bodies littered the area around the chasm and cultists, that were still alive, were streaming towards some buildings in the distance. "We have a disqualified contestant ladies and gentlemen. I apologize for that. But we have a back-up right in front of us." Watch said to himself as he looked at the mass of cultists.
Lifting up his pistol he gave the trigger a pull and let a round hit the back of some cultists leg. Causing the man to fall to the ground cursing. The cultist spun his body around on the ground and turned around then and to look at Watch. He pointed a finger at him and yelled in some unknown tongue as other cultists turned around to face him. Under his helmet Watch smiled. "Now, now. You've no right to add more players to our little game. Your ejected for the game room." Watch said as he pulled his trigger once more. The bullet sailed into the man's head and he fell back to the ground as other cultists started to turn around to face him.
"You over did you power supply and trapped yourself in a time warp you dumbass..." his mind informed him with the sound of agitation. "Yeah I know. Sorry. I should of doubled checked the reading before I jumped to her. Where is she anyways?" Watch said as he looked past the cultist and into the barren landscape around him. His helmet's lights flickered for and zoomed onto a number of area's till a loud series of explosion's were seen.
"Guess their over their then. Well best to catch back up I think. Now..." Watch's body jerked to one side as he felt the bullet bounce off his armor. Saving his life but having him feel like it was punched in his torso. "ow...." he groaned. "That wasn't .....shut up." his mind interrupted. Cutting off his next word. "Get back to the combat zone and your squad. Otherwise I'm leaving you here and joining someone else's game."
Falling onto one of his knee's. Watch started to mess with his suit's systems to boost his teleporting system. Lights and data flickered across the screen as he worked. His body jerking from side to side as a bullet grazed him here or their. Then his helmet screen went dark. Surprised by the darkness he blinked rapidly to see if it was just him or the suit working. A thin blue line appeared in front of his eyes and he felt an odd tingling sensation all over his body. The blue line became brighter and soon the world flashed back into his vision. unarmed people were all over the place and his squad was battling the cultist all around him. Smiling and then seeing Tank next to him he tapped him on the shoulder with the butt of his pistol. "Hey Boss. Have we gone into overtime yet or is it still 4th & goal?" Watch said through his comm link in his helmet. While at the same time striking a pose that would seem to show impatience for having to wait for the answer. [i] |
