"Hey, do you want to come to my camp? I can show you if you like." Ice quickly materialized on the trees around Nick as the voice nearly caused him to cry out in surprise. He turned slowly, only to gaze into the face of the girl from the creek. "It-It's you!" he whispered, shocked and unsure of what to do. Should he call for help or should he keep this quiet?
The girl held out her hand. "My name is Fi..." Nick stared at it nervously before his initial fear melted like the ice he controlled. Grasping it eagerly, he stood up and smiled innocently at Fi. "I'm Nick!" His hands were freezing. The boys at the fire had apparently noticed the disturbance so he began to walk briskly towards the creek, pulling Fi along with him.

Steve looked up, he was positive he had heard something. He climbed to his feet and made his way towards the source of the sound. Then he threw a ball of fire into the air, where is blazed bright white, illuminating the area much like a small sun would. He spotted movement in the distance, positive that it was one of the girls, spying on them. He yelled out, "C'mon babe! Don't run off to hide! Come out, come out, where ever you are, little miss spy!" he quickly jogged towards the movement he had glimpsed. He lots sight of it, but he was sure that it was heading to the girls side of the river. Re-enforcing his believe that it was a girl. He kept jogged towards the river, there was no other shallow place to cross for quite a distance in either direction.

"I'm Nick!"At least she didn't doubt his enthusiasmas he began to pull her away from the camp site but not before fireboy's voice rang out into the trees. "C'mon babe! Don't run off to hide! Come out, come out, where ever you are, little miss spy!"

Safi stopped dead and put her finger to her lips to motion to Nick to be quiet. Still holding his hand, she turned herself invisible, and grinned as Nick went see through as well. She smiled, knowing that at least they wouldn't be seen, even though she could still see a hazy outline of the boy, like he had faded somewhat.

"This way, follow me." She tugged gently on his hand as she changed directions, now heading at a 90 degree angle from the firey's path. It would take slightly longer to arrive, gven that he took the shortest route, but it would be safer.

"By the Trade winds of the world what in the hell are you running off for Steve!!!" Mark yelled after him as Steve went off into the woods to track down a girl. "I swear nothing around here will get done if we keep rushing off like that. Damn impulsive kid." Mark signed as he started to head over to a tree. Spotting a branch that was large enough and high enough he closed his eyes and started to work the wind currents around him. Forming a small vortex of air he lifted himself off the ground and high into the tree. Reaching out he grabbed hold of the branch and walked out onto it as the wind whipped around him.

Releasing his grip on the wind it returned to normal and he looked out at the forest. He couldn't see a damn thing but the river that broke the two groups camp. If anything at all he wanted to know where they were crossing so he waited and watched.

Nick grinned broadly as he saw himself disappear. "I'm invisible!" He kept a firm hold on the girl's hand for a good while before his mind started to drift. After a while he began to look through the woods for anything. Before Fi could do anything, Nick was off running into the woods after some animal. Before long, he was lost.

He stopped next to a tree to catch his breath. "Fi..? Steve..? Anybody..?" After a few moments of silence he sat down and hugged his knees fearfully. He had never been in this part of the island at night and couldn't find his way. "I wonder is this might work."

The moon was out. Nick stood and closed his eyes. "Someone has to see this." Ice grew all over his arms and gathered in an huge amount on his fists. Anyone could see the strain on his face as the enormous mass of ice continued to grow. Nick cried out in exertion as he lifted the ball over his head. The ice flew from his hands into the clear sky and with a sharp crack, it exploded into millions of tiny, crystalline fragments. It was like a big firework that anyone on the island could see.

Nick sat back down against the tree in a tired heap, hoping that someone would find him before morning.

Steve paused when he saw the ice ball explode, a cold fury filled him. Only Nick could make a ball like that, if that spy had done anything to him, Steve would go on the warpath, and destroy any trace of all the girls.

He set off running, his eyes scanning, he had a long way to go, and even though he was fit, he knew he would tire quickly so after about 5 minutes he slowed to a jog. the ball of ice had exploded somewhere up ahead, about another 10 minutes of jogging he guessed.

Before long he was within about 100 metres and he saw Nick lying on the ground, he fought the urge to run straight to him and slowly and carefully made his way forward, scanning carefully as he moved. As far as he could tell there was no visible harm to Nick, but that didn't mean that there was none.

The air was cooling quickly, but he couldn't afford to heat Nick anymore than his natural passive heat that his body gave off, it was only a light heat like one from a small heater as his body retained most of its astounding heat. He had the feeling that the ball of ice wouldn't have gone unnoticed by the girls, assuming that this wasn't a trap to start with.

His eyes swept the ground too as he made his way up to Nick, it looked like he was sleeping. Still not sure if he should go to Nick yet, not wanting to fall into a trap, he couldn't help Nick if he got catch some how.

She felt Nick's hand slip from hers, yet she was too late to grab it back, the boy darting off into the forest. Cursing softly under her breath, she chased after him, yet his speed caused her to quickly fall behind, until she could hear not even the faint cracking of twigs under his feet.

Exhausted, she crouched down beside a tree, leaning her back and head against it as she looked up between the canopy to the stars above. An eerie bluish glow was cast by the moon, lengthening the shadows of the world she lived in. Looking about, she searched for a landmark to tell her where she was, yet nothing stood out and an uneasy feeling crossed her body.

Hearing a crack, she looked up again, to something exploding into glittering fragments. Pushing herself off the tree, she broke into a dead run towards the explosion, the pit in her stomach getting deeper as she got closer to the source.

Her heart hammering she didn't even slow down as she wove through the trees, not caring about the noise she was making. Until she saw him standing above Nick's prone body. Stopping dead, her chest heaving she didn't move a muscle, knowing he had heard her and that she now had no where to hide.

Steve heard her coming, she sounded like a wild pig for a while, he quietly shook Nick. He could see it looked like he was sleeping so he took his chances. "Hey kid, you alright, get up and stay behind me, alright? I'm going to take you back to camp." he saw her then as she came to a halt. the spy, who had possibly just tried to kidnap Nick. To use as a weapon against him, the fury built but he face showed nothing. However his body temp rose even more.

"So, this is how you girls play, try to kidnap Nick, he's only a kid. You make me sick." he said bitterly straight at her, his voice filled with venom. "And don't try to go invisible on me, I'll burn down this whole damn forest around you." his eyes glinted, he wasn't kidding. His hands burst into flame, a roaring white hot flame that warmed the night around him. "What do you have to say for yourself, spy?" he almost spat the last word. his eyes danced like flames.

"Look, I wasn't the one who left him behind. All he wants to do, is to be like you, but you couldn't care less that you left him alone in your camp. So I offered him a chance to come and see for himself, without the prejudices of being attacked. So if you have a problem with it, it's yours!"

Her arms crossed over her chest, her gaze steady upon his. She did not have to explain herself to him, yet she wanted it known she wasn't kidnapping Nick. "Look, I know you don't like me, and you don't want to hear this, but I was showing Nick what it was like to be invisible. He was invisible. Suddenly he let go, and for some reason, my invisibility on hin didn't just switch off, it stayed. So I lost him when I tried to follow him."

Raythus dropped out of the sky like a stone.

He'd heard the exchange between Steve and invisible girl, knowing it was her that had helped him. He didn't want Steve to attack, but he was unsure of the girls intentions here. As such, the confusion stopped him acting, except for standing between the two of them, eyes darting to both of them.

'Steve, this is the girl that helped me when i lost airtime. Just, cool off for a sec and lets find out what side she's playing for here.'

Steve's power seemed to want to rise to the challenge, to dispute this girls claims. And he was about to until Raythus dropped from the sky. It took him a moment, but he forced himself to 'smoother' his internal and external fire. "I still find this fairly unbelieveable, but the part about Nick running off gives you a little credit. However Nick still needs to sleep, which is what he was doing as far as I knew. So perhaps you can understand my anger." he said this, his diplomatic side fighting to force his violent, abrupt and protective nature to the side.

Nick's eyes opened slowly to the strange scene before him. Two boys and one girl but no combat. He sat, propped up against the trunk of the tree, and watched the older people speak. Despite the subject of the conversation being himself, none of the others looked down to see him fully aware of his situation. Nick sat patiently, peering through the underbrush and imagining God knows what fantasies in his head. After a minute or two he began to grow bored. He giggled silently and, taking advantage of his low profile, froze Steve and Fi's feet to the ground with a thick layer of ice.

"All I can understand about your anger, is that your a hot head who couldn't care less about those who look up to him. At least I try to involve all of my girls in what I do, and in what is being planned. It's called being part of a democracy and not part of a dictatorship, Mr Do-As-I-Say!"

Her temper was rising, which was impressive as she very rarely lost it. Her cheeks were flushed and her fists clenched, knuckles whitened. She knew she'd never be able to beat him in a fight, fair or unfair, but right now all she wanted to do was sock him on the jaw.

"If that's all for now, I'm going back to my camp, and I would prefer it if you would actually not bother us anymore. If something needs to be spoken about, I will listen, however, keep in mind, if you attack us, we will attack you!"

Right now, Safi turned to leave, but discovered to her chagrin that her feet were frozen to the ground, and she promptly fell over, twisting awkwardly onto her side. Something in her leg wrenched with pain, and she bit down hard on her lip, her eyes swelling with tears but managed to not make a sound whilst keeping her face hidden from Steve.

Looking through her wet lashes, she saw Nick awake, and the ice around her feet, silently cursing the situation she was in without the othergirls knowing about it, or where she was. She was outnumbered, and right now, injured.

Nick laughed childishly as Fi fell to the ground, losing control of his powers to the temporary flux in his emotions. The air around the group dropped dramatically and the girls tears fell to the ground as pellets of ice. Almost as if in slow motion, they fell sparkleing in the moonlight to the ground before Nick's eyes. The thought of what he had just done shook him to the core. "I'm... sorry..."

He had just made a new friend but almost immediately hurt her. To Nick, this was unforgivable. He stared at the frozen tears for a short moment before beginning to cry himself. A barrier of ice grew around him, encasing him against the tree. Only cracking ice and the sound of his crying could be heard from it. "I didn't mean to.."

Steve stared at her and started to chuckle, but as she fell over he clamped his mouth shut otherwise he would explode with laughter. His face strained to to keep under control. He looked down at her amused, "Perhaps one should watch whose feet they try to tread on in more ways than one. But just so you know, with the exception of Nick, the others are part of the decision making, he isn't simply because he doesn't care, gets bored and needs looking after. Perhaps one day you may understand that young children cannot do as they want... Nick needs to be told when it is bed time and such for his own good, otherwise he would stay up forever and be annoyed and grumpy in the morning... or lost out in the bush."

Steve smiled, "You are free to go back to you camp any time, but Nick stays with us." suddenly he heard the sob and he dismissed any thought of the girl on the ground, defrosted his legs and crouched down in front of Nick, "Shhh, don't worry about it, she's fine. But you know what you were told about tricks..." he knew he could tell Nick a million times and he would never truly understand why such tricks could be a very bad idea.
